Being as successful as the Queen of Pop is certainly not something that takes place overnight and the first years of her career, when only few bothered to pay to listen to her music, are the best indication of that. All in all, it was worth waiting as now Madonna is the best paid female performer and soon to become the highest grossing singer for only one concert - she has just been offered £12.5 million for two gigs in Dubai.
British tabloid "The Sun" and the US media are reporting that talks are in the final stages for these two gigs, with chances being very favorable. If the deal does go through, then Madonna will play one show in Dubai in November as part of the international tour she would start in support for "Hard Candy", her upcoming material. For that and that alone her bank account will be fatter with £7.5 million.
But that's not the only generous offer that has come across Madge recently, the same sources say. Apparently, she has also been asked to do a private performance at a mysterious businessman's party for which she will be paid another £5 million, an offer she's considering accepting. "Madonna is about to break another record by playing the most lucrative concert of her whole career," an unnamed source told "The Sun" as a more or less confirmation for the almost too good to be true offers.
Madonna's rep refused to comment on these rumors at the moment. However, if they do turn out to be true, they would not be completely surprising as it's been years since she's topping cash music lists. Madonna's fortune received an impressive boost from her previous tour, the "Confessions Tour" that grossed £130 million worldwide, thus granting her access in the Guinness Book of World Records.
